PROJECT PRESENTATION “YARLAADE”: OBSERVATORY FOR PEACE AND GOOD GOVERNANCE IN THE CENTRAL SAHEL

PREAMBLE

The non-profit organization Yarlaade, with a social and cultural mission, was born from the desire of a group of natives from the Central Sahel who wished to contribute to supporting and assisting youth, communities, and institutions within that geographical area and beyond. Their goal is to promote social and humanitarian solidarity, peace, good governance, and peaceful coexistence through various initiatives of mutual aid, cultural awareness, and intellectual contributions.
Yarlaade’s mission centers on promoting intra- and inter-community peace by organizing charitable actions for communities in need, producing intellectual works, and hosting sports and cultural events.

Yarlaade offers young people from the Sahel and elsewhere the opportunity to take part in its activities and to join the project. Each participant—individuals, associations, or institutions—may contribute to the project’s initiatives and, by extension, to the broader African community.
Beyond its social and humanitarian nature, Yarlaade aims to serve as a tool for educating and raising awareness among youth on issues related to the major challenges of socioeconomic and humanitarian development in Africa. Its activities provide an opportunity for young people to engage in civic action within their respective communities. By mobilizing around Yarlaade’s initiatives, participants unite their energy around a common cause and transform their diversity into a strength—a force for peace, development, and community well-being.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

Yarlaade is governed by a founding assembly of five members as follows:

  • President: Dr. Awalou Ouédraogo

  • Vice President: Mr. Mamadou Ramdé

  • General Secretary: Mr. Boris Sidibé

  • Deputy General Secretary: Mr. Assane Tassembédo

  • Treasurer: Mrs. Kadidja Moné

The organization’s goal is to establish a network of local coordinators responsible for representing and promoting Yarlaade to the public throughout the Central Sahel region and beyond. Contributions to the project’s operations are based on voluntary support from members of the central committee as well as local and external donors.

By its very nature, Yarlaade seeks to foster friendship, generosity, peace, and a spirit of coexistence among all members of the Central Sahel community and their neighbors. It offers a platform for intercultural dialogue and direct humanitarian engagement with communities in need.

To effectively carry out its mission and reach as many people as possible, the project engages with all individuals from the Central Sahel, local and external associations of Sahelian communities and others across the African continent, the African diaspora, and any other organizations that share Yarlaade’s mission and vision.

For the Founding Assembly of Yarlaade,
The General Secretary,
Boris Sidibé
